Churches Together supports a number of projects and initiatives in the local community:
Reach Community Projects
Reach is an independent charity that believes in a relational handholding approach to helping families and individuals who are suffering from or struggling with the effects of financial crisis or hardship. This includes debt advice, benefit help, housing, emergency food and utility assistance and more.
Open Mind – Meaningful Support
Open Mind offers a weekly drop-in safe space for anyone experiencing mental health challenges of any description. We offer 1:1 support with a trained volunteer for anxiety, depression and any other form of mental health disorder.
Youth for Christ
Haverhill & District Youth for Christ works with young people in our local schools and churches. We work to demonstrate and declare the good news of Jesus, provide opportunities for young people to decide to have a Christian faith for themselves and to be a part of their discipleship journey. Our involvement in schools includes assemblies, lunchtime and after school activities and a mentoring programme.
The Link
The Link is a great space for our community to find out about all the good stuff going on in our town. Free information about local groups, clubs, events, organisations and services. If you want to take up a new hobby, join a support group, or need to know where to find help and advice on living costs and debt management, pay us a visit; our friendly volunteers are available to help.
Town Pastors
Town Pastors are Christian volunteers from local churches who bring a caring presence onto the streets of our towns through the late nights and early mornings of the Night Time Economy. Usually present on Friday and/or Saturday nights, they bring a positive influence on the streets providing help and support to vulnerable people.
